National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference Mission Statement:

To lead the Hispanic born-again community in America for the purpose of transforming our
culture, preserving our Judeo Christian Value System and building the spiritual, intellectual and social/political capital within the Hispanic American Community.

Reverand Rodriguez speaks about the importance of marriage, family and service to the Alliance for Marriage:

"I am grateful for the many voices that have joined in a national chorus to support AFM’s Marriage Protection Amendment and the work of our diverse coalition. For several decades, America has been wandering in a wilderness of social problems caused by family disintegration.  And an overwhelming body of social science data has established that America’s greatest social problems -- violent crime, welfare dependency, and child poverty -- track more closely with family disintegration than they do with any other social variable, including race and income level.  Tragically, as bad as our current situation may be, it could soon become dramatically worse.  This is because the courts in America are poised to erase the legal road map to marriage and the family from American law.  In fact, the weakening of the legal status of marriage in America at the hands of the courts has already begun.  If allowed to continue, this revolution will deprive future generations of Americans of the legal road map that they will need to have a fighting chance of finding their way out of the social wilderness of family disintegration."

“For far too long the votes of Latinos have been taken for granted,” said Rev. Sam Rodriguez, Jr., President of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference and Advisory Board Member of the Alliance for Marriage Foundation. “As our numbers grow, our influence is growing, and it is time for leaders of both parties to put protecting marriage and strong family values at the center of their agenda. Candidates like to tout ‘family values’ on the stump, but then toss our values aside when they get to Washington. We’re not going to tolerate that any more.” . The event will be held just steps from the convention read the story

“While the movement to protect marriage is strong today, it must become a lasting force in American politics. To prevail, we must weld the strong parts of our coalition together, so that marriage and its unquestionable benefits for our children and our society continue to top our national agenda. Our ‘Many Voices, One Mission’ campaign will cross racial, ethnic and religious lines, and its durability is essential for our success,” said Sam Rodriguez, President of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, and a key leader in the campaign. read the entire press release
