The Alliance for Marriage receives no government or taxpayer support of any kind. We are entirely dependent on the voluntary donations of concerned Americans like you. Our need for funding is urgent. Your generous contribution can make a big difference in the success of our vital mission to protect marriage between a man and a woman and to ensure that more children are raised in homes with a mother and a father.

The Alliance for Marriage is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit educational organization. It is dedicated to educating citizens and politicians alike on the critical role of marriage as between a man and a woman in the rearing of well-balanced children and, ultimately, the preservation of American society. All donations are tax-deductible. If you’d like to make a tax-deductible donation via credit card over our secure website, please click here.

The Alliance for Marriage Foundation is a 501 (c)(4) non-profit organization, which means it is allowed to engage in lobbying activities at the local, state and national levels.  The AFM Foundation works directly with elected officials to promote public policies to strengthen marriage. Because of these lobbying activities, donations to the AFM Foundation are not tax-deductible.  If you’d like to make a donation to the Alliance for Marriage Foundation, please click here.

We founded the Alliance for Marriage (AFM) in 1999 to confront the alarming fact that over 25 million American children -- more than one of every three -- were being raised in a broken home.  This is not only a disaster for these children; it’s a disaster for our society.  Our most serious social problems — from youth crime to dropout rates — track far more closely with family breakdown than they do with other social variables like race or poverty.

AFM’s mission was -- and is -- to see more children raised in a home with a mother and father.  We’ve worked for adoption tax credits, for the elimination of the marriage tax penalty, and for other common sense reforms to help strengthen families in America.  At the time of our founding, amending the U.S. Constitution to protect marriage was something that no one dreamed would be needed.
